Rhaya Shilts has been a volunteer at Paws & Think since 2008 and currently serves as chair of the Design, Marketing & Public Relations Committee. She also previously served on the board and as board president.
Rhaya has a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in graphic design from Indiana University – Bloomington. In 2008, she founded Jackson Sky, a full-service creative agency focused on custom web design and development.
Her experience in design and working with other creative individuals (along with her years of knowledge and history of Paws & Think) make her a natural fit as the head of the marketing committee at Paws & Think. In addition, she takes photos at many of the Youth-Canine programs. She has a knack for getting the attention of the often squirmy, playful dogs!
Rhaya said she heard about Paws & Think in 2008 and it stood out to her when she learned about the work they do with shelter dogs, training them to help them find homes. “Since then, my dedication and passion for the organization has only multiplied ten-fold because of the positive difference that I’ve witnessed firsthand that the organization is making,” she said.
Like many of the volunteers, Rhaya is an animal lover. She currently has a mixed-breed shelter pup named Kirby, who keeps her family on their toes! They have also fostered rabbits through the Indiana House Rabbit Society.
In her spare time, Rhaya, her husband and two boys enjoy spending time outside, exploring nature and traveling.
